Peanut Butter Pals Daycare Association

Currently the child care operation is operated out of a two bedroom apartment in the Forest Service Compound in Thorne Bay, Alaska. The facility is licensed as a group home facility, but is also suitable for a 'child care center' license. The following photographs show the operation as it exists in October 2002. Please note that many of the toys, books, and furniture are the property of the existing operator and will not be available to the new operator and the Association.

The outside play area consists of a large redwood deck, an wood chipped play area, and a grassy lawn. It rains often in Thorne Bay, but on clear days the children spend a good deal of time outside. The area is not covered.

The backyard and deck is surrounded by Sitka spruce and overlooks lovely Thorne Bay.

The interior of the apartment consists of a joined living and dining room and kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.

The comfortable kitchen includes a refrigerator, range and stove, dishwasher and plenty of cupboard space. There is also a washer and dryer located adjacent to the kitchen area.These appliances are provided by the Forest Service. The child care provider will be responsible for supplying dishes and cookware.

The bathroom is small but serviceable and includes a bath tub/shower. The two bedrooms flank the bathroom and have adequate closet storage.
